In Zallaq, Bahrain, Dose Café brings open views and a distinctive bar into an interior for everyday gathering. The relationship between the street-facing entrance and the spaces within gives the café a sense of connection to its setting.
Materials and details establish its identity at a closer scale, while the openness of the interior shapes the wider experience. The bar provides a clear point of reference within the space; the surrounding settings offer different ways to sit, meet and spend time.
The project presents the commercial interior as a whole: a composition of views, surfaces and places to gather. Its character comes from the relationship between these elements, with attention to both the atmosphere of the room and the details encountered at a table.
